4Great rimfire scope
By J. Kennedy
This scope is really clear and having the adjustable objective is critical! Eye relief is surprisingly good!

For definite step up from the el cheapo scope most people put on .22's this is great! BSA Sweet scopes also get great, but mixed reviews but are more $$$$. Even after seeing on a friend uses, the hit and miss quality issues and sketchy support for issues made me walk away. This Simmons is much lighter as well. The included rings are a bit tall for my liking but are normal for rimfire tip-off rings. I usually use different rings anyhow. The power and objective adjusting is solid and smooth like I expect on much more expensive scopes.

I'm really happy with this Simmons scope as many others must be, they are hard to find in stock just about anywhere.

I will add, Simmons has changed the design and just about everywhere you look has a different picture in the advertising. As of today, Amazon still has the old style showing. I was disappointed because I liked the "SureGrip" adjustments which I assume is for example, the thicker "gripy" looking ring for the objective adjustment. The taller rings may have been required for that bulkier bell size too. I also like the shorter turrets of the previous style. The new design has much thinner profile "grip" that is not rubber-like for objective and the turrets are much taller. Functionally it's fine and everything so far is easy to adjust, but I think the "SureGrip" rubber like rings would have been even easier for adjustments as well as looks, as would the shorter turrets have looked better, like the picture. Some use the non AO model as the picture as well. It's not just Amazon using wrong pictures. I'd post a picture if I could.

I gave it 4 stars only because the picture is a misrepresentation. I'll update if the scope itself wow's me even more as time goes by! For now, for

5Works Well!
By Douglas W. Freeman
Mounted on a Marlin Model 60 22LR. Using the dovetail tipp-off mounts that came with the scope, I had a lot of trouble with the mounts walking. I used a set of Weaver tipp off rings/mounts (Walmart $8), and used coarse pumice to increase friction - no more walking. After a few hundred rounds, the scope holds zero and adjusts as it should. I'm very pleased with the value this scope provides - everything adjusts smoothly and stays put. The scope has a quality feel to it. I'm glad I got the adjustable objective - it makes a difference. The view at all mags is clear across the range of the lens - impressive for this price. It doesn't let as much light in as $300-$400 scopes, but it works well for me - at dusk I can see through the scope, I just can't make out the reticle. I wish Simmons had the same scope with an illuminated reticle, I'd be even happier!

5Awesome Scope!!!
By Dre
I mounted this scope on my S&W M&P 15-22 with some Weaver extra-high rings and it performed flawlessly! The eye relief is excellent and consistent as you change magnification levels. Also, the AO is HUGE plus and allows for a crystal clear view at all magnification settings.

The magnification and AO adjustments are smooth, but they are firm enough that they don't move during shooting. The windage and elevation knobs provide nice positive feedback with a solid click at each turn. Another nice feature of the windage and elevation knobs is that you don't need a coin or a tool to adjust them. You just remove the knob cover and you can make the adjustments with your fingers. The whole knob turns too, not just a little tab like on some scopes. This is a very nice feature if you are wearing gloves.

One thing to note, the scope I received is not the scope that is pictured with the rubberized AO adjustment and the short windage and elevation knobs. The one I received is, I think, the newer version that has the taller windage and elevation knobs and non-rubberized AO adjustment. I kind of wanted the other one because I liked the look of it better, but all in all, I am very happy with this scope. But I do think Amazon should remove that picture as it is misleading.

I did a lot of research before I picked up this scope. I was going back and forth between this one, the BSA Sweet 22 and the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire. The Sweet 22 looks like a nice scope, but the mixed reviews seemed to indicate some major quality control issues. The Nikon Prostaff is a very good scope, but it lacks the AO. The Simmons .22 Mag is packed with great features that you would typically find in high dollar scopes, and it's under $100!

I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a scope for their .22LR.
