i use this for work quite a bit. it zooms in to like 20 inches. If you're holding it its hard to keep steady but if you buy a tripod it would work AMAZINGLY well for that. things like bird watching or something. again i use this for work in the railroad industry and i can vouch that it does take a decent amount of beating and is still holding up after 6 months or so. with all that said i love this thing and would buy again.

It maybe impossible for you to hold this instrument steady for long periods when using more than 10X. So, if you need more than that quick look, carry a small camera mono pod for longer viewing. I compared this monocular specifications on Amazon with a similiar one with 10-25X42mm lens and of the two the Zhumell had it beat in warranty and price. I would recommend this for hiking and birding, but don't expect wide angle views from this instrument.

This is a decent monocular. I really like the ability to zoom 25x, & I can hold it adequately still to use it. But that level of magnification really tests the quality of the lenses & the focal ability. It's probably as good as my old 10x monocular that cost ~$20, but it wasn't as obvious at that magnification level. $70 is a great price, but you do get what you pay for. It appears rugged enough to last me a lifetime.
